Week 4 Reading The Art of Possibility Ch 10-12
Being responsible for everything that happens in your life. Many times when something happens in our lives we want to push the blame off on someone else but in reality we need to be responsible enough to take the good or bad that comes with everything that happens in our lives. I love how this chapter talks about making yourself the "board" and not just the "pawn". When you are the "board" you make all the moves not just some of them...in life. I found this chapter to be very valuable this week for me.
I like the way you think Amanda. As I was reading your blog I felt like you were talking directly to me. You have a great interpretation of the chapters. Taking responsibility for your actions is a big part of growing up. Im trying. lol
ReplyDelete@ Amanda,
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree Amanda, it is very easy to blame others.Sometimes I also feel very sad because I feel very guilty of some of the things I have said and done. However, the same situation also applies when one takes the blame onto oneself. By using the “board” approach you also learn to let go, of blaming others and blaming yourself. Guilt is just as bad as blaming others. I have thought so many times” this would not have happened if I just had done something different”. However, although one should take certain responsibility for certain actions, to let go and say that is the way the “universe” helped me learn this lesson, makes the situation light, free and open to new possibilities. Just me, philosophizing here.
Amanda, great insight on "making all the moves" when you become the board. It is still an area I am uncomfortable with, because that means when something "bad" happens I have to look at myself first.
ReplyDeleteInteresting image, I'm sure that little won't forget his part in what happens in life.
