Above is the link for my UDUTU project. You can also find it under Social Skills Kindness & Cooperation on UDUTU Learn on Facebook.

My UDUTU lesson focuses on the Social Skills of Kindness and Cooperation.

Wow, what an experience! At first I was frustrated with UDUTU but after working out a few kinks and talking to a few friends (thank you Kathy!) I was well on my way to creating a lesson on UDUTU. Once I got going, I decided that I really like this tool. It was easy to create an assessment and link the pages to the correct answers. I did find it frustrating that some of the fonts were difficult to change and make larger. I can certainly see this being a nice tool to use in the future!

  2. Amanda-

Great job with this. I LOVED the idea of encouraging a random act of kindness.
One thing that I noticed, and Kathy K pointed this out to me as well-your videos cut off before the end. I know that Udutu is extremely glitchy with this. I had to go back, dump the screen, and reinsert it.
Also, what about selecting the option to include images that represent your quiz questions?
Just a few thoughts, but found it completely worthwhile!

  3. @Amanda - I thought your lesson was very kid friendly and you did a good job of assessing the kids after the lesson. I thought the design and theme of your lesson was so cute - the colors will appeal to young children. You did a great job!

I was immediately struck with the thought that my school's guidance counselor would love a lesson like this! :) Excellent topic!!
In going through the lesson I found that Screen 7 would not give me a correct answer, so you may want to check that. Also, just a suggestion, but adding images to your assessment screens might make them more visually appealing. It is fairly simple to publish without the watermark...I'd be happy to walk you through the process!
I agree with Joe that encouraging a random act of kindness is wonderful!!

Udutu glitches abound! The video stalled out and gave me an orange screen to accompany most of your soundtrack. Question #4 has no correct answer. These were glitches that were no fault of your own. Your concept for the course is something that we are sorely lacking in today's school culture. It's relevant and needed at ALL levels, k-12! Good work on a great topic!

  6. Thank you for all of the feedback! I am off to check those things. The video plays fine for me, I guess it is a glitch..ugh, I've got a love/hate relationship with UDUTU!

  7. Amanda, I love the subject of your lesson. I also like the way you approached it and the questions you had. I am sure many schools as well as many parents would love to use your module. Once you overcome the love/hate relationship with UDUTU you might consider making a series of lessons within the same subject.

  8. Amanda, I loved the concept of your lesson! The pictures, text and design of your Udutu project was very appropriate for students. This would be a great lesson to do with students in the first week of class for class building. I think building character is a huge part in curriculum. Awesome job and I loved it!

  9. Amanda,

I really liked the subject matter in your lesson, and the colors and the customization you used with it really gave it an original tone as well. Great job!...
